Kate Tryhorn - Speech and Language Therapist, BA (Hons)
Kate graduated from The University of Reading in 1998 with a BA (Hons) in Linguistics and Language Pathology. She started her career working for the NHS Speech and Language Therapy Service in Dorset where she built her expertise working with pre-school and school aged pupils and their families in community clinics, schools, pre-schools and Sure Start children’s centres. She developed a special interest in dyspraxia and developmental language disorder whilst working within a specialist pre-school language base.
Kate is passionate about collaborative working practices. She works with families, alongside education staff and other professionals, to ensure children are supported and that their individual needs are fully understood by everyone involved. Kate provides high quality training sessions for pre-school and school staff in the identification and development of speech, language and communication skills.
Kate has an excellent knowledge of assessment and intervention approaches, ensuring that all work follows best practice guidelines and is evidence-based. She is committed to developing and maintaining her expertise by regularly updating her skills and knowledge.
